"Lest We Forget"

Jim Watson

Jim ran the band for years, and was one of the older, wiser members of the band. He made regular contributions to the band funds so that they could look and sound better than ever. He is still sadly missed (and not just for his money). Gone but not forgotten.

William Duncan
Wee Willie was also one of the older members and was very well known with his fellow band mates. His son is a member of the band and plays the flute, like father like son. Gone but not forgotten.

BIG BILL CAMPBELL

Big Bill was a founder member of Bridgeton No Surrender Flute Band. Unfortunately he had to leave his place in the band and spent a some years in jail. On his release he became a good friend to all the members again and you saw the big man wherever B.N.S.F.B went. He was always sporting a big smile when the band went past. His family are still active supporters of the band and the band also proudly carry a bannerette in his memory. Gone but not forgotten.

Brian Walker

Brian was a character who was well known everywhere he went, which would have usually been the pub as those who knew him would agree as he liked a drink. We know he met a lot of people in bars over the years as strangers still ask the band where he is. He still has a brother and nephew in the band today. Gone but not forgotten.

George Edgar

George ran the band for many a year and he had great respect from all the members. When he talked people listened. It is tragic that he was taken from us too soon. Those who knew him will never forget him and those who didn't know him wish they had. Gone but not forgotten.

Robert McVey

Robert was a cymbal player in the band for a short time while his dad played the side drum.  Robert left the band and followed the band for many years until he was tragically taking from all of us by murdering cowards.  Gone but not forgotten.

Bridgeton No Surrender

LEST WE FORGET

They shall grow not old,
as we that are left grow old.

Age shall not weary them,
nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun,
and in the morning we shall remember them.

For God and Ulster
